About Avodart


Avodart is the US brand name for Dutasteride, the oral medicine made by GlaxoSmithKline for treating symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men.

The medicine has also shown excellent results in treating and helping reverse genetic male pattern hair loss on the vertex (top of the head) and the mid-scalp area. Early results from clinical trials show Avodart's effectiveness compared with Propecia.

Avodart is approved by the US Food & Drug Administration, and in Europe, for treating BPH. Avodart is supplied in 0.5mg soft gelatin capsules. The version of the treatment available in European countries has the brand name Avolve.
