Dutasteride (Avodart)

Main Purpose: Long Term Maintenance, better regrowth than Propecia
Overview: Dutasteride is the newest treatment on the market that may soon be approved by the FDA for treatment of hair loss. It is in the class of DHT inhibitors, however it inhibits both types of 5-Alpha enzyme whereas Propecia inhibits only one. Men experienced 50% more regrowth on Dutasteride than on Propecia, however there is no established side effects statistics for Dutasteride at this time. This may be a significant issue.

Propecia

Main Purpose: Long Term Maintenance, Slight Regrowth
Overview: Propecia's claim to fame is maintenance. 83% of men studied were able to maintain their original hair count, and 64% experienced regrowth after 2 years. Propecia does this by inhibiting the creation of DHT in your system. If you are trying to regrow large amounts of lost hair, you should consider a combination regimen of Propecia and Minoxidil for best results.

Rogaine (Minoxidil)

Main Purpose: Stimulating Regrowth
Overview: Minoxidil's claim to fame is stimulating growth. 59% experienced increased hair-count after 4 month of use. Minoxidil does not inhibit one of the main causes of thinning hair, DHT. Minoxidil products should be used in conjunction with other treatments like Propecia, if you are trying to regrow a significant amount of hair. May also be a good hair maintenance tool on its own.

Tricomin

Main Purpose: Stimulating Regrowth, Scalp Conditioning
Overview: Tricomin has been shown in clinical trials to stimulate growth. It uses specific Copper Peptides to stimulate naturally dormant follicles into their growth phases, effectively countering the damaging work of DHT. Tricomin products can be used effectively with other treatments including Rogaine and Propecia, providing additional benefit to the follicle and surrounding environment.

Toppik

Main Purpose: Concealer. One of the best products on the market for helping to hide thinning hair.
Overview: Simply put, this product is amazing. Its available for use in both men and women, and when applied to the hair, will literally conceal any thinning hair you may have. The amazing part about this product is that it actually looks real, and it's not the useless "spray-on-hair" we've all heard about.

Couvre

Main Purpose: Concealer applied to the scalp. Decrease contrast between scalp and hair.
Overview: COUVRe is great alone or in conjunction with Toppik. Its main purpose is to be applied directly to the scalp to help reduce contrast in colors between the hair, and the skin showing through.
